Veloz is seeking an experienced Jira System Administrator to join our team. As a Jira System Administrator you customize and configure Jira to meet project requirements and specifications. You will be responsible for maintaining and optimizing the Federal client’s Jira instance to meet the needs of the project.
Responsibilities:
- Create Projects and Users: Sets up new projects and user accounts within Jira
- Manage User Permissions and Access: Grants or restricts access to specific projects and functionalities based on user roles and needs
- Create Custom Workflows: Designs and configures customized workflows to streamline specific project lifecycles and task management processes within Jira
- Issue Types, Screens, Fields, and Permissions Schemes: Defines different types of issues (e.g., bugs, tasks), custom screens for data entry, additional fields for capturing specific information, and permission schemes to control access to these features
- Install, Test, and Maintain Jira Plug-ins: Expands Jira's functionalities by installing, testing, and maintaining add-ons (plug-ins) that address specific needs
- Create Dashboards and Reports: Designs dashboards and reports to visualize project progress, track key metrics, and provide insights for stakeholders.
- Create Scrum and Kanban Boards: Sets up Scrum and Kanban boards tailored to specific project methodologies, facilitating agile project management
- Create and Apply Filters and JQL Searches: Develops filters and JQL (Jira Query Language) searches to narrow down data views and retrieve specific information efficiently
- Analyze and Review Configuration: Periodically evaluates and reviews the current Jira configuration to identify potential improvements and ensure optimal system performance and user experience.
Minimum Qualifications and Experience:
- Must pass background investigation and U.S. Citizenship required
- Bachelor’s degree in related field; additional experience may be considered in lieu of degree
- Minimum three (3+) years of experience working with Jira as an administrator
- In depth knowledge of Jira administration, including workflows, schemes, and plugins
- Experience writing JQL queries and creating filters
- Experience creating Jira dashboards, Scrum/Kanban boards and reports
- Excellent problem solving skills
- Ability to work in a fast paced environment
